With ten years of experience spanning public, private, and non-governmental sectors, he brings a unique practical perspective to his academic research in mechanism design.

Dr. Madhuri Saripalle is a Professor of Economics at IFMR Graduate School of Business, Krea University. She received her doctorate in Agricultural Economics from the University of Connecticut, US. Her research interests include industry studies, technology and productivity, agri-supply chains, and economic development. She has published in various peer-reviewed journals and has worked on several projects with organisations such as CII, Ford Foundation, and Murugappa Chettiar Research Center. The projects include topics related to employment in the manufacturing sector, environmentally friendly farming practices and industrial policies; and the impact of Covid-19 on production and agri-supply chain.

Kalyani Raghunathan is a Senior Economist in the Economic Research and Development Impact Department at the Asian Development Bank in Manila. Before this, she was a Research Fellow in the Poverty, Gender and Inclusion Unit of the International Food Policy Research Institute (IFPRI).

Sudha Narayanan is a Senior Research Fellow in the Development Strategies and Governance Unit, based in the South Asia Office in New Delhi. Sudha’s research interests span agriculture, food and nutrition policy, and human development. She is particularly interested in survey-based research using microeconometric approaches to understand broader questions of agrarian change and state delivery systems for nutrition security. Her research focuses on contract farming, agrifood value chains, digital technologies in agrifood systems, technology adoption in agriculture, public policies for food security and employment, and agriculture-nutrition linkages.

Tejas has over six years of experience in the non-profit sector, working as a mixed-methods researcher, teacher trainer, and teacher. He currently specializes in program impact evaluation – including RCTs and A/B testing – with a focus on gender, foundational literacy and numeracy (FLN), early childhood education and development (ECED), and school leadership

Dewi has over 20 years of experience in improving education equity and quality, split equally between program development and research, and across academic, private, non-profit, government, and multilateral institutions. She joined GSL in 2021 as the Senior Director of Research and spearheaded the development of ecosystem and program research to understand the enabling environments and pathways for school leaders to improve student outcomes.

Dr. Gautam Anand is a global education researcher with more than a decade of experience designing and leading rigorous, policy-relevant research across low- and middle-income countries.

Ashutosh Bhuradia is a PhD Candidate at the Harvard Graduate School of Education, working at the intersection of economics, education, policy, and program evaluation. 

Ritwik Banerjee is Professor of the Economics area at Indian Institute of Management Bangalore. His primary research area is at the intersection between Behavioural and Development Economics and he extensively uses Experimental Methods for his research. Some of the topics he has investigated or is currently investigating are corruption, inequality, education and discrimination.

Dr. Maria Micaela Sviatschi is an Associate Professor of Economics and Public Affairs at Princeton University. I am an affiliate at CESifo Research Network, NBER Development and Political Economy groups, BREAD, the African School of Economics, AMIE, ESOC, and the International Crisis Group.

Girija Borker is an Economist and Gender Program Coordinator in the Development Impact Evaluation unit at the World Bank. She is a development economist working primarily on gender, violence, and transport in urban areas. A large part of her current research studies the economic consequences of sexual harassment in public spaces and assesses potential solutions’ effectiveness on women’s physical and economic mobility such as police patrolling, a reliable reporting system, and access to subsidized public transit. Girija has a Masters in Economics from the University of Cambridge, UK, an MPhil from Toulouse School of Economics, France, and a Ph.D. in Economics from Brown University.

Ariel Gomez recently joined the School of Public Policy and Urban Affairs at Northeastern University as a Future Faculty Fellow (2023-2025) and will be researching economic development, education, and Mexican history. Born in Southern California to Mexican immigrants, Ariel earned a B.A. at UC Berkeley (after transferring from Cerritos College) and a PhD in economics from Harvard.

Dr. Soham Sahoo am an Associate Professor and Chairperson of the Public Policy Area at the Indian Institute of Management Bangalore. My research and teaching interests are broadly in economics and public policy, focusing on education, labour, health, and political economy.

Santosh Kumar Gautam is professor of development and global health economics in the Keough School of Global Affairs at the University of Notre Dame. He is a core faculty affiliate of the Keough School’s Pulte Institute for Global Development.

Hema Swaminathan is an Associate Professor at the Centre for Public Policy of the Indian Institute of Management Bangalore. Her recent research focuses on inequality in income and wealth distributions between men and women, and female labour participation in India. She is currently working on survey methodology to collect improved data on several domains; individual-level data asset ownership and wealth, decision making by women, and women’s engagement with the labour market. She was PI on the Gender Asset Gap project, a comparative study of Ecuador, Ghana and Karnataka (India). The project demonstrated the feasibility of collecting individual-level data on assets and wealth and has generated the first ever estimates of gender asset and wealth gaps.

His research interests include behavioral poverty traps, strategic foundations of general equilibrium, sovereign debt crisis, and political economy. Rohini Pande is the Henry J. Heinz II Professor of Economics and Director of the Economic Growth Center at Yale University. She is also the faculty director of Inclusion Economics at Yale. She is an elected member of the American Academy of Arts and Sciences, an Econometric Society fellow, and a former co-editor of American Economic Review: Insights. Pande received the 2018 Carolyn Bell Shaw Award from the American Economic Association for promoting the success of women in the economics profession and the 2022 Infosys Prize in Social Sciences. Formerly, Pande was the Rafik Harriri Professor of International Political Economy at Harvard Kennedy School.

Lisa Ho was a Postdoctoral Associate within the Inclusion Economics research initiative at the Yale Economic Growth Center and the Macmillan Center during the 2024-25 academic year. Lisa graduated with a PhD in Economics from MIT in June 2024. She studies development and labor economics, with a focus on female labor force participation, digital work, and the evolution of gender norms.

Simone Schaner is Affiliate Researcher at Inclusion Economics India Centre at IFMR/Krea University. She is an Assistant Professor (Research) of Economics at the University of Southern California, an affiliate of the Bureau for Research and Economic Analysis of Development, the Abdul Latif Jameel Poverty Action Lab, the Center for Effective Global Action, and a Faculty Research Fellow at the National Bureau of Economic Research.

Urmi Bhattacharya is an Associate Director of Research at the Inclusion Economics India Centre at IFMR/Krea University. As a Research Lead, she serves as an internal advisor and provides oversight and day-to-day guidance and support to research teams to ensure we are set up for successful research and effective policy engagement with gender policy counterparts. Advise on research, programmatic, operational, financial, and human-resource-related issues in service of objectives in our research portfolios. She works with the Executive Director and Research Managers to ensure that broader operational learnings from this vertical inform the development of a high-calibre research team across the organization, in all portfolios.

Charity Troyer Moore is Director for South Asia Economics Research at Yale University’s MacMillan Center. She is an Affiliate Researcher at the Inclusion Economics India Centre at IFMR/Krea University, where she provides strategic direction and oversight of research, policy, and capacity-building engagements in India and other countries in South Asia for a portfolio of work co-led with faculty at Yale University. Charity’s research examines public service delivery and governance in the bureaucracy; the drivers and potential solutions to India’s low female labour force participation, with a focus on the ways in which current policy initiatives can put women on better footing as economic agents; land rights; and social protection programs, notably public works and cash transfer programs.

A labor economist, his research focuses on job creation, wage inequality, and hiring discrimination, with an emphasis on public policy impacts in global labor markets. He is affiliated with J-PAL, IZA, and the Global Labor Organization.

Dr. Sara Constantino is an Assistant Professor at Stanford’s Doerr School of Sustainability. Her interdisciplinary research spans economics, psychology, and environmental policy, focusing on climate action, resilience to shocks, and the politics of cash transfers. She holds a PhD from NYU and has held positions at Princeton, Northeastern, and Nature Human Behavior.
