Project Methodology
The project included thousands of household and financial surveys conducted between October 2023 and April 2024 by a field team of over 70 people. Data collection focused on the social and economic outcomes experienced by women trained to operate CSP kiosks, capturing changes in autonomy, economic participation, and community standing, alongside the broader household-level effects of improved access to financial services in rural Begusarai and the surrounding districts of Bihar.
Impact
By training women to operate CSP kiosks, the programme aims to build local financial ecosystems that promote inclusive growth, aligning with JEEViKA’s broader mission of enhancing women’s social and economic agency, supporting greater participation in community institutions, and creating pathways for sustainable livelihoods in rural Bihar. The evidence generated from this study will contribute to policy and programme design focused on expanding women’s roles in financial inclusion and rural development.
