Project Methodology
Water Point Verification (WPV) is the first and foundational stage of the initiative — a programmatic diagnostic survey assessing the suitability of water schemes for ILC installation. Its findings guide all downstream decisions on where and how chlorination units can be safely and effectively installed. WPV covers system infrastructure (tank capacities, pipeline layouts, delivery mechanisms), operational characteristics (supply schedules, source types, storage practices), site conditions (accessibility, safety, and feasibility constraints), and media capture (comprehensive photo and video documentation for site-level screening).
Impact
This comprehensive approach supports the Government of Andhra Pradesh’s goal of expanding reliable access to safe drinking water for rural communities, contributing to India’s broader mission under the Jal Jeevan Mission to deliver clean, safe water to every household. As an ongoing project, the verification data being generated is expected to play an integral role in guiding the safe, effective rollout of chlorination infrastructure and building out reliable clean water access for Andhra Pradesh’s rural population.
